Precisely noon before the Woman’s March on Washington Edmonton a small crowd was beginning to form outside this delectable gastropub. As the doors opened the friendly server readily got everyone comfortable and began taking orders to accommodate all the quick people in for a quick lunch before going to join the march. I don’t remember being asked what I would like to drink but there was a nice cold glass of water that showed up while I was looking through the menu. The crowd was more than what they were expecting and yet they were handling it with great composure.
As the quickest things on the menu were soup or salad I ordered the carrot ginger soup which was the soup of the day and it was quite fantastic while my lunch companion ordered a the beautiful brown butter steak salad. The soup was creamy and the flavours blended quite wonderfully. The perfect lunch to a cold crisp day with a beautiful walk around the Alberta Legislature Grounds
